The 11th Annual Patriot is going to be held on Saturday, July 9th at Key Air on the grounds of the Anoka County Airport. The purpose of the ride is to recognize the contributions and sacrifices that members of the military, veterans and their families make to ensure the freedom’s we enjoy. The event is also a charity fundraiser. With the help of Patriotic motorcyclists and other community members the Patriot Ride will raise more than $200,000 and all the proceeds will be donated to the four worthy non-profit causes the event supports.

While the day is organized around a motorcycle ride it is also a community event that draws many non-riders to Key Air the day of the ride. In the morning before the ride departs people will be able to visit vendor booths, eat a wide variety of food, take in an Elvis concert, watch the St. Paul Police Department put on a riding demonstration, check out vintage war planes, watch the morning program which will include a group of former Navy Seals parachuting into the event and of course watch all the bikes roll in.

At noon more than 3,000 motorcycles will depart and take a 50 mile ride through the countryside. It will be quite a sight to see. Along the way many, many people will come out and show their support from the roadside.

The ride will then return to Key Air later in the afternoon. In addition to all the other activities visitors can view the Donnie Smith Motorcycle Show, buy a raffle ticket to win a 2016 Harley Davidson Street Glide that will be given away that day and listen to the awesome music of the Emerson Avenue Band.

The closing ceremony will be a recognition program focused on those who gave their lives defending our country. This year’s keynote speaker is Beau Doboszenski who was a Sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

There will be many people at the Patriot Ride who have lost a loved one as a result of their military service. Sharing the day with them will be a gut-wrenching and heart-warming experience all at the same time.

The Patriot Ride is a very fulfilling day for everyone who participates. Dave Dahl of Channel 5 TV is the official meteorologist of the Patriot Ride and promises us a bright sunshiny day. Participate in the 11th Annual Patriot Ride and help us all do the right thing.
